I don't normally call this many times for any issue as I understand it's a process, but I was on a time crunch with the airline cancelling last minute and needed to get everything sorted promptly. In order to get my issue resolved, I had made roughly about 8-10 calls within 24 hours to Costco regarding the situation and most importantly about their communication with my hotel. They do not cover any difference if it's booked elsewhere. Costco reps told me that if they could not reschedule with them, there was nothing they could do about it other than find alternatives and possibly I'd have needed to pay more money for a last minute booking at a different hotel. If they hadn't, I would have had to book a completely new resort and possibly be in penalty with the hotel which then costs a fee. I went with option 2 but I was fortunate that my hotel had the vacancy available to change my trip dates to match the same amount of days I originally planned for. Have Costco and my hotel rearrange new trip dates to accommodate the rescheduled flights, this relies on the hotel having vacancy but can be denied by the hotel.They do not cover the difference if choosing this option. Rebook on a different airline for the same dates and pay the full cost upfront (which was roughly $2k compared to my original $1.2k cost), but get refunded my original flight payment.When it comes to rebooking on the same airline if needed, easy and they can do it. The only issue I ran into was rescheduling due to my airline canceling all flights for several days because of incoming severe weather, but it led to a whole dilemma because it was done 24-36 hours before my scheduled departure. Highly recommended Maui especially since it cost roughly $2k per person for the package itself. Incredible, beyond what I could have imagined. I just got back from my Maui trip at Lahaina Shores Beach Resort booked with the Costco full package and genuinely found the value to be enough to do it again as long as I have travel insurance. For reference, I didn't expect them to cover any additional costs, but I wasn't sure how they handle those situations and that led to this entire fiasco: Spend that extra ~$100 because Costco does not cover a lot of adjustments if you're booking through them even if it's an emergency situation caused by your airline or hotel.
